Johanna and Klaus Moosbrugger-Lettner’s roots lie at the Arlberg. The couple successfully runs the “Bergschlössl” and the “Basecamp” ski bar in St. Anton. In 2012 they opened the Lech Lodge and the same concept was then applied to the Kitzbühel Lodge at the Kitzbühel Country Club in 2016. The hosts wish to pass on their own love for their home to their guests, and offer them an unforgettable stay in Lech and Kitzbühel.
Tough decision: Lech Lodge or Kitzbühel Lodge? What is special about these two places and which one best suits what occasion?
Lech and Kitzbühel both are very special locations in the Alps that have attracted people from all over the world for many decades. Essentially, both destinations are ideal for a vacation at any time of year. The Lech Lodge chalets are in the mountains at the end of a road – so the nature reserve starts right on your doorstep. The chalet suites of the Kitzbühel Lodge are on the Penthouse level of the Kitzbühel Country Club. What is special about them is that our guests can avail themselves of all the amenities without restrictions during their stay: from spa and wellness area to cigar lounge, wine bar and the varied in-house event program. The service concept is identical in both lodges. We orientate ourselves to the individual needs of our guests and adapt to their particular rhythms. The question is simply whether our guests prefer Lech or Kitzbühel.
Could you explain the “fairy godmother” service at the two lodges?
The “fairy godmother” fulfills guests’ every wish, making their stay as enjoyable as possible. She contacts them before arrival to get an idea of how the guests are thinking of spending their time with us. This first contact is very important so that we can prepare everything in good time and get it all organized. On arrival, our guests are welcomed by their “fairy godmother” with a cup of tea or a glass of sparkling wine. She is there for the guests throughout their vacation, remaining discreetly in the background but always available if needed. Our guests really appreciate this personal service.
What makes Omesberg the perfect spot for the Lech Lodge’s private luxury chalets?
That’s easy: Lech is the most beautiful place in the Alps, and Omesberg is the most beautiful spot in Lech! With beautiful meadows, forests and mountains right outside the door, Omesberg is the perfect place for slowing down and unwinding. Throughout the year, our guests are constantly on the move so when they’re with us what they really appreciate is the peace and the break from everyday life in a stylish Alpine setting with discreet, attentive service.
What culinary delights do you have in store for guests?
We can fulfill any culinary wish: from à la carte chalet breakfast to highlights such as duck, roast pork or gingerbread houses. Our guests particularly enjoy our fondue evenings when the entire family sits around the table and spends time together in a cozy atmosphere. At the Kitzbühel Lodge our guests also have the chance to enjoy international à la carte meals at the gourmet restaurant or in one of the four snugly rustic dining rooms. Dining enjoys very high status at both lodges. Guests are at complete liberty to choose how they want their meals. Our kitchens are perfectly equipped so that the art of cooking can be truly celebrated here. And for those who don’t wish to cook for themselves, meals can be delivered to the chalets.
What special insider tips can you offer visitors to Lech and Kitzbühel?
The natural scenery in Lech is simply magical. We recommend that our guests go outside, start walking, and experience nature – be it on a hike alongside the river to one of the barbecue spots, a quick visit to the Freiburger Hütte, or climbing to the top of Formaletsch Mountain. From there, you have a fantastic view of the “Red Wall” (Rote Wand) the most striking mountain in the Lechquellen range. The “Gasthof Post” is a very good place to take some refreshment in the village. In Kitzbühel we recommend that our guests make an excursion to Schwarzsee Lake or the game park in Aurach. For tasty food made with regional produce, we recommend “Seidlalm” on the Hahnenkamm Mountain.
