Frankfurt am Main, Germany
As General Manager, Stefan Winkler is the man who supervises the management of all departments and employees, and the organization and coordination of all business operations at the Jumeirah Frankfurt. In October 2010, the native of Lower Saxony began work at the luxury hotel and, in his previous position as Resident Manager and “second in command”, got to know the hotel and the needs of his guests intimately.
Considering the broad spectrum of responsibility, what are some of a general manager’s favorite tasks?
A general manager is very much an all-rounder who deals with all areas at a hotel – from food & beverage, to housekeeping, to utilities. That’s what makes my job so interesting and rich in variety. But, above all, my responsibility is to manage the hotel operations as a whole. What I enjoy most is direct customer contact because that is how I receive direct feedback.
Guests are welcomed with a drink and an oshibori towel. How does a relaxing stay at Jumeirah Frankfurt continue after this?
After check-in, our reception personnel accompany the guests to one of our 217 spacious and elegant rooms and suites with luxurious furnishings and a magnificent view of the Main metropolis. The innovative architecture and timelessly modern interior create a unique atmosphere. Guests feel immediately comfortable due to the remarkable size of the rooms. This feeling continues in our restaurants and also at our Talise Spa.
What kind of culinary delights await guests?
On the first floor, there is the restaurant Max on One. Its open-kitchen concept makes quite an impression on many of our guests. Our cuisine is modern and regional, with an Arabian touch. We place tremendous value on using local products; for example, we have our own beehives on the rooftop of the hotel. Our city honey is delicious and contains no artificial ingredients.
What should a person not miss at Jumeirah Frankfurt?
Well, if it’s “life in the city” you’re looking for then you shouldn’t miss the live music at our hotel bar. Every Wednesday evening starting at 8 p.m. different music acts make the Ember Bar & Lounge their stage and delight not only our hotel guests with jazz, evergreens, the latest chart hits, and pop classics.
Frankfurt is one of the leading trade fair cities in Germany. Do you offer any special trade fair arrangements?
Of course. There is our “Business First” package, for example, which includes Internet access, ironing service, and breakfast for up to two people in the restaurant Max on One. As Frankfurt has become a weekend and shopping destination in recent years, we created our “Shop and Stay” package and work closely together with Wertheim Village and MyZeil to this end. Those who love culture will enjoy our “Alte Oper” package. In addition to an overnight stay including breakfast, the offer includes VIP seats and a table reservation in the foyer area during the interval.
